Gunilla Jung (b. 1905 d. 1939): Best known for her groundbreaking lighting, she loved mixing materials—metal, glass, hardwood, rattan, even reed—giving her work a fresh, modern feel that was heavily influenced by the Bauhaus yet retains a love of nature ubiquitous in Finnish design. Working with Orno, she created many standout pieces for public spaces, including some of Helsinki’s most famous restaurants & the fixtures for Helsinki’s Savoy Theatre in 1937. Her untimely death in 1939 makes her pieces exceedingly rare and collectible.
