A sweet pine table lamp, with the most wonderful fabric shade! The shade is covered in näversöm, a traditional Swedish drawn-thread technique that creates an intricate geometric pattern of open and densely worked motifs. The embroidery is backed with white linen, so the pattern comes alive when the lamp is illuminated, casting an incredibly soft and warm light. The diamond-shaped medallions are very characteristic of the geometric vocabulary of the näversöm technique, begnu in the 17th Century & revived as a popular Swedish handicraft in the 1960s when it was used for everything from household textiles to lampshades. Set upon a beautifully turned beech wood base with a wonderfully sculptural, almost folk-modern profile, this lamp brings that coveted hygge (hoogah) vibe to your interior. Get cozy!
Rewired for US with vintage switch. 17" H x 5" D. Shade: 5" W x 8.5" H
